Every afternoon the sky grows dark, thunder is heard brewing in the
distance and the storms come rolling into Kuala Lumpur.  KL has a
tropical rainforest climate which is warm and sunny all year round, but
the warm climate also brings the abundant rainfall, especially during
the months of October through March…the Monsoon season.  So since we are
actually in the midst of this season, my rain boots frequently come in
handy.  This weekend I headed out to run some errands and right on
schedule, the clouds began rolling in during the late afternoon.  So
although I ended up getting caught outside in the rainstorm (these
pictures are only the beginning), I was able to make it back inside for
the huge downpour. 

Best known for its “baguette” handbags, Fendi was first opened in Rome
as a leather and fur shop in 1925.  Today, Fendi is a luxury brand owned
by the Louis Vuitton S.A. conglomerate and operated by none other than
Karl Lagerfeld.  The way that Fendi bags are made certainly stands out
with their design and craftmanship…I just love the look and feel of this
brown and black classic.  Pairing it with my favorite red suede shoes
this holiday season and my comfy leather shorts, I was ready for a day
out in Florida.

Over the holidays I threw on this ensemble for a dinner out with my
family.  It’s pretty simple…black denim with a white collared shirt, a
gray sweater and a black vest.  Adding a silver belt, my red pumps and a
black bow headband added a touch of color, sparkle and Christmas
charm.

Cable-knit sweaters are the perfect staple item in your
wardrobe; not only are they super cozy and casual, but the cable-knit is
stylish at the same time.  Adding this sweater over a plaid shirt with
my J. Brand jeans created my weekly PLAY style for an evening in the sand and surf.

Okay, so this isn’t exactly a cape, it’s a poncho, but I’m going to make
it into a cape!  My aunt and I are thinking of cutting it up the front
and adding toggle closures to the front.  It’s so much easier to wear a
cape than a poncho, especially when you are taking it on and off for a
night out on the town.  This winter, the cape trend definitely took off
and why not, they are super cute…a coat to keep warm and a classic
draped accessory – ALL IN ONE!  So in today’s post, I’m listing a cape
as number 16 of MY ONE HUNDRED.

My blazers are normally worn during the week to work, but I love adding
them to my skirts, skinny jeans and dresses for a day or night out on
the weekends.  That’s what I love about blazers, you can dress them up
or down, wear them professionally or wear them cute and sexy.  In this PLAY
style outfit, I slipped on a bright blue blazer and a bright orange
skirt, while adding some colorful heels, to create a bold colorblocking
(graphically mixing colors for eye-catching contrast) explosion, a huge
trend this fall season…and one that I am loving!

I just love this 3.1 Phillip Lim high-waisted skirt.  The touches of
burgundy in the plaid skirt made me grab for my burgundy short-sleeved
turtleneck on my way to work.  I’m loving how the color burgundy is a
fashion favorite for this fall/winter season.

When I first saw this dress in a magazine, I searched high and low to find it
and was lucky it was still available!  Not only did I fall in love with
the classic color and subtle red polka dots, but I love the classic
square-neck cut and fitted pencil skirt.  It is just the perfect
dress…and I wasn’t surprised to find it was designed by Dolce&Gabbana. 
These two Italian designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano
Gabbana, presented their first women’s collection in 1985 and today the
company has grown to a multi-million dollar fashion powerhouse.  Dolce
& Gabbana, the company, has two distinct brands – Dolce&Gabbana
(without spaces) and D&G.  Whereas Dolce&Gabbana specializes in
more luxury items, D&G is a more casual line.  No matter what the
brand, Dolce & Gabbana clothing just seems to make a woman feel sexy
and that is exactly how I felt today in this PLAY style post.

When wearing Animal Print, keep everything else simple.  I try to only
wear one animal print piece at a time, although sometimes I will wear my
animal print belt with some animal print shoes, oh well.  It’s just so
cute! 

Wearing animal print can be wild, but mixing it with other patterns,
even crazier!  While flipping through magazines and online fashion
photos, I’ve seen this combination of polka-dots and animal print and
thought maybe I would give it a try.  So here it goes…me being a bit
wild.

Today when I wore this outfit to work, my husband actually asked, “I
thought you weren’t allowed to wear white after Labor Day?”  I smiled
and replied, “Honey, get with it!  Who ever said fashion had rules
anyway?”  I’m here to say YES, YOU CAN wear white after Labor Day!  The
winter white trend took over the runways this fall and the models wore
it well…now, so can you!  The key is to not focus so much on the color,
but on giving it your own special style…just add some classic
accessories or some fun embellishments!  Trying a new trend may seem
scary, but you’ll never know how much you’ll love it, unless you try
it.  So go ahead and be rebellious this holiday, wear your winter white
and be the snow angel you are!
