Something about Brazil that you should know
I learned a lesson: ”a person who speaks your language with an accent knows a language the most”! Very interesting this placement novelist from Miguel Falabella (I do not watch soap operas, but I was impressed!). Here in Brazil, from the blackest person to the whitest person, we are all brazilians. Here, a foreigner can hardly be discriminated for being a foreigner, however, get lots of smiles and friendliness of my happy people. What a wonderful mix of cultures in this beautiful carnival of colors! To be a real brazilian it doesn’t depend on the language. It’s more about the soul! If our “warmth” bother or is interpreted in a wrong way maybe it’s because the coldness of the prejudice still haunts many mundane minds. That mulatta can be just a nice person when she smiles to you. That multi racial couple can be together for the sole purpose of love themselves. That black guy wearing havaianas sandals into the store can be richer than you. That brazilian may know ‘sambar’…
We are accustomed to the labels that we have since a long time ago. Let’s set ourselves free from these bonds that prevent keep us from progressing and being happy! After all, who are we to judge someone through a mere superficial knowledge? What we have to become qualified to curse what a person is or wants to be? What’s so interesting in judging someone for having different qualities of our faults? Why we not wake up in the morning, wish a “good morning” to the next and realize that we must to care for our own lives simply because we want to leave a legacy of good deeds for future generations? I challenge you to leave your comfort zone: integrate in your culture a different culture, complement your lifestyle with little moments of other lifestyle, add new styles to your clothing, matches a pattern with another one… mix and match!
