Pastels
I wore a soft, thrifted, semi-sheer (if there’s such term) white blouse and a coral-colored shorts for my godson’s birthday party. I didn’t want to go all out since it’s a kid’s party so I wore my brown lace-up oxfords/ankle booties instead of heels (although that was the plan). My blouse has a vintage feel, probably because of the embroidery details on the collar and the part where buttons are placed. I used a pastel-themed necklace which consists of pearls and beads. This necklace is DIY and was sold in my next collection. This salmon-colored shorts that has laser-cut details on its hem is my current favorite. Apart from its details and color, it has an easy, breezy feel to it which I love. This shorts can go from day-to-night if accessorized properly and mixed with other items accordingly. My current alternative to flats: my oxfords-slash-ankle booties. I actually bought this pair for the sole reason that it would look good on the dress that my uncle gave me. Very Taylor Swift-ish. But I realized that this pair can go not just from rugged-ish/casual to semi-formal/formal, depending on how you will dress it up. I was kind of hesitant to wear it with my outfit because I have a feeling they won’t look good together because the outfit was giving a chic, feminine vibe. But hey, in dressing up, one should take chances, too! So I did. When I looked at the mirror, voila, they fit together! The shoes gave a more relaxed vibe to the femininity of the whole ensemble.
