Community Rules & Rights

WHAT IS CHICISIMO?
Chicisimo is a community of girls sharing their personal style and inspiring each other. Chicisimo is a work in progress, we are building the site with the help and support from fashion lovers all over the world. So please get involved, give us advice and help us improve (we’re easy to get in contact with:).

You can use Chicisimo to share your style and inspire others, or you can upload your looks to keep a diary of how you dress daily. You can also use Chicisimo to check out how other girls dress, discover cool smaller brands, or build a catalogue of your favorite looks from other users. However you use Chicisimo, please be kind to others, respect the rules, and help us improve with your feedback.

.

CHICISIMO IS A PLACE TO LEARN, BE POSITIVE AND TO BE OPTIMISTIC
Please be positive and respectful, and help us keep a positive environment: flag negative comments, inadequate images or non-desirable users. We love diversity and we are here to learn. We do not tolerate bad criticism. You can vote for your favorite outfits, but there is no “I don’t like” or negative ratings.

.

RULES FOR YOUR PERSONAL STYLE PICTURES
1.- Girls only. Guys, see below.
2.- In the main image, show clearly what you are wearing, the complete outfit. From head to toe, or at least most of it! You can show the details of your outfit by uploading additional pictures, if you wish.
3.- One look per photo. Please do not include two looks in one post, today’s and yesterday’s looks for example, just one.
4.- Upload each look only once, no repeats :) !
5.- The picture should be of good quality, we don’t need professional photos but decent quality is required.
6.- Photos of you. If you are a style hunter, you can also share your street style pictures. Just make sure all pictures you share are yours and have been approved by the “model”. Don’t share them otherwise.
7.- No. No. No. No spam. No photos of children. No nudity. No photoshop. No pajamas, no lingerie.

.

MOST IMPORTANT RULE IS: REMEMBER THIS SITE IS ABOUT SHARING PICTURES OF WHAT YOU WEAR
Being yourself is the best thing to do. We want different styles, different brands, different shapes. What you would see on the streets of different cities, different neighborhoods… that’s what we are looking for.

Pictures that don’t follow the rules and spirit of the site will be deleted.

.

YOUR OUTFITS GO TO:
Looks uploaded to Chicisimo are visible to everybody, and they go to several places on the site:

1.- To your profile
2.- To the section “Fashionistas you follow”, for the girls following you
3.- To the “Recent looks” section
4.- To the brands pages and categories you have tagged your look with. If you are wearing a Zara skirt, that look will go to the Zara collection and to the skirts collection.
5.- Once the look is made popular, it goes to the front page, the popular section. We have a little secret magic formula to calculate the community support that makes a look popular.

You can upload several looks at the same time, and they’ll be visible in your profile. But only one look every 24 hours will go the pages above (recent, people following you, brand and category pages).

.

NEW USERS HAVE TO BE APPROVED

To add some extra security, looks from new users can only be seen by visiting their profile. Once you share several looks, you will be “approved for sharing” and your looks will go to the “Recent looks” section, possibly to the “Popular looks” section and the brand pages. We only do this to avoid non-personal style pictures.

Help us get you in quickly: upload several looks, share your blog URL and connect your account with your Facebook or Twitter profiles.

.

GUYS: CHICISIMO IS GIRLS-ONLY

There is only one reason for this: we’ve been active in the girls personal style sharing community, and the site has been built for this community. But we are getting feedback from guys and starting to understand your love for fashion as well. Let us get ready to get you in, and we’ll do it. Email us at feedback at chicisimo dot com, tell us of your thoughts, and once we are ready we’ll email you.

.

WHO IS BEHIND CHICISIMO?

Maria and Gabi are building Chicisimo, with the help, support and inspiration from sooo many girls all over the world, fashion and Internet lovers. Maria started Chicisimo as a blog back in 2008 when we were based in San Francisco. We are now based in Spain, and 100% dedicated to building an awesome website.

Maria (Maria Arenaza) has been blogging about fashion for the last 3 years at Chic o Chuc (in Spanish) and Gabi (Gabriel Aldamiz-echevarria) has a background with Internet stuff. Fashion and the web, a perfect match:)

About the video above: On one hand, I hate being in front of a camera (you’ve probably already guessed it from watching the video). On the other hand, I think short videos are a great way to get to know people a bit better (that’s why I interview many girls, go to our blog to watch the video interviews).

So even though I hate doing this video stuff, I thought I’d do one so you can see who is behind Chicisimo, and to demonstrate that it’s not that bad to be in front of a camera. And the truth is… It IS! It is tough to be in front of a camera, even more if English is not your first language. Thank goodness I have no accent:)
